主持与参加多项国家自然科学基金、航空科学基金、国防预演基金、江苏省自然基金等项目。

主要从事现代飞行器的自适应鲁棒控制、容错控制以及智能控制，在 IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems,International Journal of Control, International Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, IET Control Theory & Applications, International Journal of Systems Science, Journal of the Franklin Institute等期刊发表学术论文110余篇（其中SCI论文30余篇）。获得过国家教学成果二等奖，江苏省教学成果特等奖以及江苏省科技进步三等奖。担任在 IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems ,International Journal of Control, International Journal of Robust and Nonlinear Control,International Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, IET Control Theory & Applications, International Journal of Systems Science, Journal of the Franklin Institute，自动化学报等国内外多个期刊的审稿人，主编“现代控制工程基础”教材（科学出版社出版）,主讲研究生课程“Optimal cotrol theory ang applications”。兼任中国自动化学会集成自动化技术专业委员会委员。
