1986.09-1990.07，安徽农业大学畜牧专业获学士学位。 1990.07-1999.08，政府机关、事业单位工作。 1999.09-2004.06，华中农业大学动物遗传育种与繁殖专业获博士学位。

2004.07-至今，西南大学生命科学学院副教授，硕士生导师。 2005.09-2009.06，西南大学系统生物学研究所畜牧学学科博士后研究工作。 2013.3-2014.2，英国爱丁堡大学罗斯林研究所从事访问学者工作。

目前主要开展动物表观遗传学、动物优质基因的鉴定和基因调控网络等方面的研究。主持和主研了9项国家级和重庆市级等科研项目，其中“863”项目1项；国家自然科学基金项目3项重庆市自然科学基金计划重点项目2项；其他项目3项
