2000年6月，毕业于湖南农业大学动物科技学院，获农学学士学位；2004年7月，毕业于中国科学院亚热带农业生态研究所畜禽健康养殖中心，获理学硕士学位；2005年10月，赴德国德累斯顿技术大学生物中心进行为期10个月学习，从事“基因工程生产富乳铁蛋白素B的功能饲料及食品研究”； 2007年7月，毕业于中国科学院亚热带农业生态研究所畜禽健康养殖中心，获理学博士学位

2007年7月被聘为中国科学院亚热带农业生态研究所助理研究员，主要从事动物分子营养研究工作；2008年10月被聘为中国科学院亚热带农业生态研究所副研究员，主要从事动物分子营养研究工作。2010年11月被聘为西南大学特聘教授，2016年7月10赴美国堪萨斯州立大学进行为期1年的访学，从事“色氨酸促进Beta防御素分泌的机制研究”。2017年被聘为西南大学研究员。
