1990年-1997年先后在西北农业大学获得学士和硕士学位。2000年7月在福建农业大学获得博士学位

2001年4月—2010年12月，曾先后在新加坡国立大学（NUS）、新加坡基因研究院(GIS)和新加坡分子与细胞研究院(IMCB)从事博士后和专职研究员工作，2011年1月回国加入中山大学中山医学院工作
