1985年毕业于安徽蚌埠医学院临床医学专业 1995年获中山医科大学解剖学硕士学位

并工作于蚌埠医学院解剖学教研室 1998年工作于中山医科大学解剖学教研室；1999年任解剖教研室副主任、支部书记；2005年任基础医学院党委副书记；2006年任中山大学《中山大学学报》医学版常务副主编；2006年晋升教授，人体解剖学和神经生物学硕士、博士生导师。2006年香港中文大学访问教授；2010年被授予英国皇家生物学会院士
