现主要从事我国人群特异结构及与疾病相关的遗传资源的调查、收集和研究工作，并承担和参与了多项中国人群疾病相关的研究和数据库的构建任务，及生物技术医药产品的研究与开发工作，研制法医学领域的应用试剂盒。另外，负责管理复旦大学2个“985”工程技术研发平台：测序和分型技术平台；芯片系统平台。在这些平台可以应用SNaPshot、SNPstream、SNPlex、MLPA、AFFYMETRIX等技术进行分子分型及诊断。
