我们的基本的感觉中,嗅觉,视觉,味觉等的分子转导机制都很清楚,例如,嗅觉感觉的分子生物学转导机制的研究获得了2004年的诺贝尔奖。听觉,触觉的转导机制可以说比嗅觉的转导机制更加重要,但是其分子转导机制还是不清楚的。我们实验室把听觉,触觉作为我们研究的主要方向,力争在这个领域做出基础的,重要的,新颖的发现。据中国卫生部2012年报告,我国的新生儿的听力遗传缺陷达到千分之二左右,我国在2012年出生听力遗传缺陷儿童就有3.5万人。在进行基础科研的同时,我们也会在新生儿听力遗传缺陷的机理研究,以及其预防,诊断和治疗方向做出努力。

MOLECULAR TRANSDUCION MECHANISM OF HEARING AND TOUCH
Mechanotransduction is the process by which mechanical force is transformed into neuronal signals, and is essential forhuman senses of touch, hearing and gravity rely on mechanosensation.Notwithstanding the importance of mechanosensation, its cellular and molecular mechanisms are the least well understood among the different sensory modalities. By combining Drosophila genetics, behavioral assays,electrophysiological recording and calcium imaging, we have demonstrated thatthe Drosophila NompC protein is apore-forming subunit of a mechanotransduction channel functioning in class IIIdendritic arborization (da) neurons to sense gentle touch (Yan et al, Nature, Jan 10, 2013). We will continue to use Drosophila to study hearing and touch, and will extend our our wotk to mamalin system.
