从事哺乳动物代谢性疾病的研究,尤其是肥胖导致的Ⅱ型糖尿病和心血管疾病。主要是从转录和转录后加工水平对线粒体的功能进行研究,从线粒体的生理功能到病理转变的全新角度,解释多种代谢性疾病潜在的分子生物学机制与联系。对各种代谢性疾病,尤其是肥胖引起的代谢综合症,从回复线粒体功能,恢复机体能量平衡的角度寻找新的更有效治疗途径和药物靶点。
