1986年毕业于中国药科大学生化制药专业， 1993年去日本留学，于1997年和1999年分别从吉林大学和日本九州大学各获得医学博士学位

1999-2004年于加拿大麦吉尔（McGill)大学经历博士后训练。2004-2012年作为资深科学家就职于麦吉尔大学生化系。2013年起任东北大学生命科学与健康学院特聘教授，生化与分子生物学研究所所长，博士生导师，2015年入选 辽宁省高端引进人才百人层面。

三年来获得国家自然科学基金面上项目两项和参与一项国家重点专项。
